To support the police officers, police aides provide physical security of the many buildings on campus. Police aides are responsible for locking and unlocking buildings for everyday University business, key services and after hours escorts. Police aides also patrol the campus community on foot and by vehicle or bicycle, reporting unusual and suspicious activity and other public hazards. Police aides may also assist police officers with crowd control, surveillance or traffic control at public events and taking police reports involving larceny, found/lost property or other reports as assigned.
