UAPD Campus Police Mission Statement The Mission of the University of Arizona Police Department is to provide a secure atmosphere conducive to the education, research, employment and daily community lifestyles of the institution. To accomplish this mission, University Police Officers and employees of the department must be: Unique in their operations; dedicated to the community in which they serve and live; aware of the cultural diversity and differences of individuals; fair and impartial while performing their duties while maintaining continuing interaction and cooperation with the students, faculty, and staff of the University, the Tucson community and the balance of the criminal justice system. MGIO Mission Statement To provide a safe and secure environment for personnel affiliated with the Mount Graham International Observatory and for those who visit. Insure the protection of property from project opponents, enforcement of Arizona revised statutes and apprehension of violators. Investigate crimes, write reports and testify in court. Provide emergency medical services to U of A staff, crews, visitors and coordinate advanced life saving measures. Initiate fire suppression efforts for the MGIO facility, assisting the United States Forest Service in fire fighting efforts. Assist other governmental agencies in providing a safe environment, enforcement of the Federal Code of Regulations and applicable state statutes. Perform other duties and functions required, furthering the goals and operations of the MGIO project. |
