Commander Sommerfeld has been serving the University community since 1986. During his tenure he has held the positions of Field Training Officer, Armorer, Mobile Field Force Instructor and PepperBall Instructor. His previous assignments include supervisor in Patrol, Traffic, Training and the Detective Unit to include Professional Standards Investigations. He has held the previous ranks of Officer, Corporal and Sergeant.
