Chief Anthony Daykin Chief Daykin was sworn in as the Chief of Police for the University of Arizona, August 14, 2000. Chief Daykin began his career in law enforcement with the Tucson Police Department in 1972. During his 28 year career there he had various assignments including K9 handler and trainer, SWAT supervisor and commanded many of the functions of the Department including, Community Services, Investigations, Field Services, Information Services and Administration Services. He retired from the Tucson Police Department as an Assistant Chief to be appointed to his current position. Chief Daykin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Education from Northern Arizona University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Senior Management Institute for Police. His professional memberships include: the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the FBI National Academy Association, the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, the Police Executive Research Forum and the Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police. His community service has included membership in Rotary International (Tucson Saguaro Club) and the Boys and Girls Club of Tucson Board of Directors where he has served as president of both. He is also a member of the Student Life National Leadership Board for the University of Arizona. He is a proud United States Marine Corps combat veteran of the Vietnam War. |
